MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF CHRISTOPHER LAKE HELD ON JUNE 20, 2017 IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS

 

Present: Mayor Daughton, Councillor McShannock, Councillor Henderson, Councillor Carruthers ,CAO Jeannie Rip

75/17 MCSHANNOCK       That the minutes May 25, 2017 regular meeting of

                                     Council be accepted as presented.

Business Arising from the Minutes

 

The Village’s BBQ was a great success and attended by approximately 160 residents from the community and surrounding area. The Village also held a gardening class for residents to plant herbs, vegetables and flowers for their personal care and enjoyment.

 

The Village intends to hold this event on an annual basis to promote and encourage residents to grow and nurture their own plants and vegetables.

                                                                                                           

             Reports

            

Roads and Streets                Regular maintenance will be completed as required, including graveling and grading of streets and roads.

                                            

Maintenance                         Regular maintenance of Park and Village grounds will

                                           be completed as required.

 

                                           Additional sign structures will be installed in the Village’s Sign Corridor.    

                                                                       

Bylaw Officer                        No infractions to report.

 

Western Days                      Councillor McShannock and Councillor Carruthers shall be responsible for the Fire Works display held on August12, 2017.

 

CPL                                     Pickle Ball is the new sport being sponsored by CPL.

 

SCC                                     Councillor McShannock & Councillor Carruthers have offered their assistance to the School Community Council in regards to the planning and construction of the local community skating rink.

84/17    HENDERSON                  That the CAO transfer $6,940.92 from the Dedicated

                                                 Lands Account to the General Revenue Account; and

                                                 that the monies were used for the upgrading of the existing

                                                 public park in the Village of Christopher Lake.

85/17    MCSHANNOCK            That the Village shall be accepting credit cards for taxation

                                             Payments through Square; and that the an additional  

                                Transaction fee of 2.65% shall be transferred to the payee;
