01/17 HENDERSON That the agenda of the January 18, 2017 regular meeting of
Council be accepted as presented.
02/17 MCSHANNOCK That the minutes of December 22, 2016 regular meeting of
Council be accepted as presented.
Business Arising from the Minutes
That the CAO contract a person to apply for Grants in regards to developing and promoting a clean, healthy and safe environment for the residents and visitors of the Village of Christopher Lake.
Roads and Street Snow Removal and sanding to be completed as required.

Bylaw Officer Lot 16 Block 5 Plan# 70PA101373 is in violation of construction without a valid Building Permit( Bylaw No.1/11); and that new owner has been advised to complete a Development and Building Permit in order to comply with Bylaw No.1/11.

04/17 CARRUTHERS That the Mayor and CAO be authorized to sign the
Engagement Letter authorizing Cogent CPA

05/17 HENDERSON That the December 2017 financial statements be accepted as presented.

07/17 MCSHANNOCK That the Council has reviewed and revised the annual employees’ wages and salaries; and that the Council has authorized the CAO to hire part-time staff as required.
Tax Arrears 2016
08/17 CARRUTHERS That the list of tax arrears as of December 31, 2016 be
accepted as presented; and that those lands having arrears
of less than 50% of previous year’s levy, or where
arrangements for payment of outstanding taxes have been
made be exempted from tax enforcement; and that
Taxervice be authorized to proceed on tax enforcement.

09/17 HENDERSON That the Fidelity Bond, Errors and Omissions coverage on
page four and five respectively of the AON Certificate of
Insurance, was presented before council for their inspection

10/17 CARRUTHERS That one-third of the remuneration paid to Council
Members be deemed to be paid in respect of general
expenses, incurred by each individual, incidental to the
discharge of their duties.

11/17 CARRUTHERS That Council remuneration for 2017 be set as follows:
Regular Meetings $200.00
Special Meetings $ 80.00
Committee Meetings $ 60.00
That Council’s monthly meetings remuneration will remain
Mileage .50 per kilometre

Appointment for Fire Chief
13/17 MACGREGOR That the Village of Christopher Lake accept the
Appointment of Chris McShannock as Fire Chief for the
Lakeland & District Co-operative Volunteer Fire
Department; and that the term of the appointment be
January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.
14/17 MCSHANNOCK That the Village lease office space to J D Excavating Inc.;and that the lease will be for one year; and that the cost shall be $450.00 per month; and that the lease shall be effective January 1, 2017-December 31, 2017; and that J
D Excavating has first option as leasee for 2018.
15/17 HENDERSON That the CAO be authorized to sign the one year Storage
Contract with Lakeland RV Storage; and the fee for rental is $300.00 plus GST.
